Martin Maier completed his studies in electrical engineering with a focus on electronics/communications engineering at TU Graz 1991 with a diploma thesis on a network analyzer for a CAN bus.
After about ten years in industry as a software developer in the development of hardware-related application and test software, Martin Maier has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2000 and began his German patent attorney training in 2002, which he completed in 2004 with the German bar exam.
From 2005 to 2009, Martin Maier worked as IP counsel for Philips Semiconductors and NXP Semiconductors in Vienna and Gratkorn.
Martin Maier has been working as a freelance patent attorney since 2009 and qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2015, he joined DHS Patentanwalts GmbH 2022 as an associate.
As a patent attorney, he has been working mainly in the technical fields of semiconductor process technology, driver assistance system technology, MEMS sensor technology, general mechanical engineering and in connection with software-based inventions.
Martin Maier speaks German, English and French and has a basic knowledge of Chinese.
