The legal professional titles “patent attorney” and “authorized representative before the European Patent Office” (“European Patent Attorney”) were given by the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Patent Office, respectively.
The legitimization for using the professional titles "European Trademark Attorney" and "European Design Attorney" is achieved through registration on the list of authorized representatives at the European Intellectual Property Office euipo.europa.eu pursuant to Art. 89 of Regulation (EG) No. 40/94 of the council dated 20 December 1993 concerning the Community trademark and Art. 78 of Regulation (EG) No. 6/2002 of the council dated 12 December 2001 concerning the Community design.
