Eugen studied technical physics at the University of Munich and graduated as Dipl.-Ing. (FH), and he further studied physics at the Nottingham Trent University and graduated as B.Sc.. Subsequently Eugen was a Ph.D. student in physics at Cardiff University (UK). His thesis was in the field of semiconductor quantum dot lasers.

Eugen has worked more than 20 years (since 2003) in the field of intellectual property. Thereof, Eugen worked for 15 years at patent departments of world-renowned industrial companies, namely at Siemens AG, Continental Automotive GmbH und Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH. Furthermore, Eugen worked almost two years at Fraunhofer Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. in the field of patent utilization. Since 2019 Eugen has been working in one law firm at a time. Initially Eugen worked at the law firm Zwicker, Schnappauf and Partner, Patentanwälte Partnerschaft mbH, and following this at Wallinger Ricker Schlotter Tostmann, Patent- und Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbH. Eugen joined the law firm Dilg, Haeusler, Schindelmann, Patentanwalts GmbH in 2024.

Eugen is registered as European Patent Attorney since 2011, as German Patent Attorney as well as representative before the EUIPO since 2012, and since 2023 as representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Eugen’s technical focus is at the technical fields of automotive (assistant-systems/human-machine-interfaces, tire pressure monitoring systems, batteries and fuel cells), medical technology, image processing, optics/optical lithography, optoelectronics/semiconductor lasers and computer implemented inventions.

Eugen speaks German and English.
