Andreas Dilg graduated from the Technical University Munich in 1997 with a degree in Technical Physics. From 1997 to 2000 he did research at the Chair for Experimental Biophysics in the Physics Department of the Technical University Munich. His PhD thesis relates to the characterization of the active centres of iron-sulphur proteins using spectroscopic methods. He concurrently studied Business and Labour Law.
Between 2000 and 2004, Andreas trained as a patent attorney with Viering, Jentschura & Partners. He passed the German patent bar examination in 2003 and is a European Trademark and Design Attorney. In 2004, he qualified as a European Patent Attorney. He joined Maiwald Patentanwalts GmbH in 2004, where he was a partner until 2007.
Andreas co-founded DHS Patentanwalts GmbH.
In 2012, he completed a course of studies with an LL.M. in „European intellectual property rights“ focusing, inter alia, on European and International Civil Procedure Law and patent infringement and invalidation in England and France. Andreas is representative before the Unified Patent Court.
As a patent attorney he has specialized in the fields of patent litigation, nullity proceedings, oppositions and patent prosecution. Andreas works predominantly in the technical fields of software, electronics and semiconductor technology.
Andreas Dilg ist Direktor der Internationalen Sektion von CEIPI. For the European Patent Office, he provides an advanced training for Examiners.
Andreas speaks German, English and French.
